Job Summary

Centerline is looking to hire a full-time telecom lineman crew to work remote and support the state of Vermont with FTTH builds. The Lead Telecom Lineman will function as a foreman and run their own crew. This position will not report to an office every day, but will function remote supporting our customers throughout VT.

What You Will Do

Leadership and managerial skills in which the individual is able to run small jobs with a few crews looking to them for guidance

Must be able to receive any work within the normal scope of work we do and be able to complete in a timely fashion (aerial and underground)

Responsible for all crew paperwork and documentation; turn in all correct documentation associated with job upon completion of the task

Responsible for delegating work within the crew and take a leadership role by taking responsibility for the actions of himself and his crew

Ability to able to read maps (design), able to run assist wheel and figure 8 fiber

Can hook and climb poles successfully, assemble stock I.E. snow shoes

Can build strand, load a lasher, lash cable and fiber and be able to do all basic pole transfers

Stock truck with stock for the day’s job assignment

Check oil and do VIR before every shift

Responsible for general organization of truck and cleanliness of truck both in and out

Accountable for the advancement and training of anyone on the levels below them

Conscientious regarding the safety of him/herself at times as well as the safety of every other crew member or individual on the job site

What You Will Need

Show up for work daily and on time

Must be able to pass a Background Check, and Drug Screens

Must possess and continue to possess a valid driver’s license and pass random driver’s license screenings

Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks

Regular contact with co-workers and customers

Within 90 days of start date, take and pass OSHA-10 Certification

Must be able to take and pass, and continue to pass a DOT Physical

Travel required

Work Environment

Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise.
