* Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials * Perform inspection, diagnostics and repairs on CAT Rock Trucks, Loaders and Dozers * Conducts pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily field level hazard assessments for all activities * Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members * Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures * Be able and willing to work overtime if needed What we seek * 2 years + of experience as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic * Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems * Ability to work with limited supervision * Valid driver's license * Must have current MSHA 5000-23 certification * Perform physical functions per job requirements * Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards * Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment Criteria/Working Conditions * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.

* Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday.

* Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor or surface mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
