# This individual must be able to successfully demonstrate the essential functions and responsibilities as specified in the departmental competencies.# Individual must meet/exceed the criteria based performance appraisal.# Employee must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of accepting pressure assignments, clerical assignments, and all duties relative to the department.# Employee must be capable of interacting professionally with other employees and departments within the hospital.

# EDUCATION # EXPERIENCE Graduated from an Accredited Surgical Technology program or completed HSPA instrument of patient care certification program for CRCST/CIS or CBSPD.

# CERTIFICATES, LICENSES # REGISTRATIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology Program as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or a Sterile Supply CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)/CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) or a CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution). # (Note:# Candidates transferring from a different facility with experience in performing instrument tech duties will be granted 1 year to obtain required certification(s).# All CST#s graduating will be granted 1 year to obtain their certification as a CST.# All parties must adhere to the requirements.# Refer to policy OP4-2029 Orientation-New Employees.)
