We are seeking a Telematics System Administrator to support our Asset Management team by being responsible for the configuration, management, and continuous improvement of NACG’s telematics applications. Salary: $73,500 to $90,000

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

Maintain Pi Server, ESRI ArcGIS System and Other Telematics Related Softwares

Plan and execute regular maintenance activities on Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines as required.

Work closely with IT personnel on various system management tasks.

Coordinate and assist with updates and upgrades.

Perform regular active monitoring of the system.

Assist with NACG’s backup and recovery strategy.

Incident intervention and recovery.

Develop company standard practices as they relate to Pi Server management, user onboarding, maintenance, etc.

Troubleshoot issues relating to Pi Server, ESRI ArcGIS and other telematics softwares.

Provide remote technical support to software users from various field sites.

Assist with user permissions, security group management, access control, etc. for anything telematics related (ESRI, Pi and XMPro).

Manage large data imports and exports from the Pi Server.

Optimize Pi Server application performance.

Manage remote configurations of CAT Datalogger devices using CAT proprietary software.

Act as an Internal Telematics Systems Expert to Support the Telematics Project

Develop specialized knowledge in how NACG has deployed telematics softwares and how they are used.

Assist with troubleshooting system issues.

Make recommendations on system improvements and execute on theserecommendations.

Manage NACG’s OSIsoft Pi Asset Framework

Maintain Asset Framework (AF) Templates and build templates for new additions to the system.

Manage element setup and maintenance in the Pi Server.

Build and maintain AF analyses as they relate to mine mobile equipment monitoring with collaboration from technical Equipment Analysts.

Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering is preferred or College Diploma in Computer Technology or a related field. Equivalent experience would also be considered.

Preferred 2 years’ experience working with OSIsoft Pi and/or ESRI ArcGIS but new graduates may be considered.

Experience with Microsoft Azure considered an asset.

Mining experience considered an asset.

JDE or other ERP System experience is an asset.

Familiarity with time series data analytics is considered an asset.

Database management skillset.

A high degree of interest in the field is considered an asset (having related hobbies, past experience, etc.).

Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex software interactions.

A working understanding of generally accepted IT security practices.

Capable of both strategic and tactical thinking with a drive to meet quality, schedule, and reporting targets.

Ability to think big picture and understand how small changes impact the business as a whole.

Motivated to find solutions to address any challenges that arise.

Understands the financial impact of software decisions and projects with the ability to estimate and communicate costs to management.

Willingness to learn and improve understanding of heavy equipment and mining.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent computer skills, working with Oracle JDE (or similar ERP systems), Microsoft Excel, Word, Office, and other programs.

Strong interpersonal skill set, will be working with various levels of management.

Ability to work under pressure and work through complex or unusual situations EG: data research, short time lines, etc.

Strong attention to detail.

Self Starter with drive to take ownership of the program and make continuous improvements.
