Job Responsibilities and Requirements The Billing Support Analyst is responsible for responding to various policyholder billing inquiries.

This includes daily systems transactions to update policyholder coverage or demographic data, as well as the research, resolution, and response to policyholder billing concerns such as statement clarification or billing discrepancies.

Policyholder Services * Edits and updates policyholder related changes such as demographics and/or coverages.

* Resolves policyholder inquiries and complaints regarding billing issues received from clients, brokers and field offices in a timely and professional manner.

* Partners with other internal departments, particularly Underwriting and Medical Underwriting, on the validation and approval of requested policyholder changes that fall outside standard coverage & timeframe limits.

* Works with regional sales offices * Reviews and processes monthly client file(s). * Provides education, guidance, and support to on-line clients and their service providers with respect to processing policyholder updates and basic on-line enrollment support for tasks such as adding coverages and updating elections.

* Provides support and subject matter expertise to the Regional Service Organization (RSO) for new and existing policyholders to ensure successful implementation of RSL's policies for the client's products.

Create and deliver new policyholder administrative kits to the RSO in an accurate and timely manner.

* Sorts and disperses inner office mail.

Billing System * Supports billing systems enhancements and product development initiatives by playing an active role in various testing processes.

* Assists in the review, research, and resolution of discrepancies, exceptions, and anomalies reflected on our daily and monthly reports as they relate to various JSOX controls.

Projects * Collaborates with Information Services and the RSO Service team to develop solutions to broker and client's specific needs, and to proactively communicate/document potential issues.

* Identifies and recommends process improvements specifically focused on increasing efficiencies and creating end user ease of use.

* Documents and maintains positional processes and procedures.

* Supports various training, marketing, and ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience * High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associates Degree in the area of Business Administration, Risk Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

* Minimum of two years related employee benefits (or related) experience is required.

Prior experience in a high volume premium processing and billing operation experience preferred.

* Strong interpersonal relationship, problem solving and customer service skills.

* Ability to research, analyze, and reconcile billing issues and basic mathematical skills.

* Knowledge of disability product offerings, contractual requirements and policy specific plan designs required.

* Ability to be well organized, accurate, detail oriented and effectively manage time required.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office products with a strong knowledge of Excel required.

* Professional business demeanor and the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial capacity with minimal supervision are required.

* Ability to understand the intricacies of both List Bill and Self-Administered bill processing.

* Must have a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to get involved and perform detailed and diversified duties when special situations arise (i.e.

projects, coordinate activity for "special" policies, address Customer Service issues, etc…) * Must work well in a multi-task, team- focused environment.
