Only this caliber of employee will be successful in driving our Agency towards accomplishing our mission BUDGET ANALYST Job Location: Business and Finance Address: 1110 W Washington Street Phoenix, Arizona 85007 Posting Details: Salary: $53K - $57K Grade: 21 Closing Date: Open till filled (First Review of Resumes: 05/07/2024) Job Summary: As a Budget Analyst, you will support assigned ADEQ sections with planning, organizing, analyzing, monitoring and maintaining the financial information of a variety of funding sources including federal grants.

You'll understand the legislation, history, program and have an overall understanding of the sections and their funding sources.

We will look to you for budgetary expertise and recommendations on these sections for planning, operations, and preparing information for budget related questions from our Agency Management.

You will also be responsible for assisting the program sections with creating and managing their annual spending plan.

This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements). The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): ● Knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodology; governmental budgeting principles; planning practices and administrative structure; general knowledge of accounting principles; skilled at data analysis and problem solving, problem analysis and resolution; LEAN, six sigma or process improvement experience ● Ability to organize and prioritize workload; communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals at all levels Selective Preference(s): ● Bachelor's degree in public administration, finance, accounting, business administration ● 3-5 years' experience in budget or finance ● Strong analytical and critical thinking ability; proven experience being detail oriented and meeting deadlines ● Experience in Public and/or Environmental setting ● Moderate to advanced experience in Excel Pre-Employment Requirements: If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
