Alabama State University, Business and Finance, Purchasing/Procurement, invites applications to fill the position of Staff Associate.

The selected applicant will provide clerical assistance to the Director in all aspects of the functionality of the Procurement Department.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Review and process purchase requisitions for material, equipment and services in agreement with University and State policies, rule and regulations * Collect, maintain and report data pertaining to the vendor database * Disseminate vendor copy of purchase orders and maintain purchase order record files * Collect and maintain data pertaining to vendor disclosure statements * Process new vendor registrations * Prepare correspondences, memoranda, reports and forms * Compile statistical data as instructed * Communicate with the public in directing call to the proper staff * Establish and maintain accurate and current files of letter, reports and other documentary materials * Maintain confidentiality of department's files and pending decisions * Ensure end users and vendors are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all aspect of acquiring good, services and property * Utilize computer systems and software applications to access, create, edit, print, send, retrieve, or manipulate data, files or other information * Assist with bid processes: specification, conference/site visits, openings, tabulations, awards, etc.

* Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, and 3 years of experience in office administration, customer service, sales, or related field are required.
