Position Details Position Information Position Title Assistant Professor of Finance Department BUSINESS Position Category Faculty Job Description The Assistant Professor of Finance, School of Business position shall have the primary responsibilities of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses either online or in-person, research/creative achievement, recruitment and service functions, and shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the university, school, and department.

The Assistant Professor of Finance, School of Business position reports to the Chair, Undergraduate Programs.

This position is housed at the Lincoln Memorial University main campus in Harrogate, TN.

Required Qualifications A Ph.D.

or doctorate in the appropriate business discipline as required by the teaching assignment or other equivalent degree;*Demonstrated effective practical or graduate and undergraduate teaching and dissertation committee experience through a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications * evidence of effective teaching; *evidence of scholarly activity; *demonstrated success in chairing student dissertations.

Physical Demands Campus Harrogate Job Duty Job Duty promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large; Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students; Job Duty participate on university committees; Job Duty maintain proper security for all university files and information and follow privacy procedures at all times; Job Duty maintain records and procedures for duties and responsibilities of position; Job Duty complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of university programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites; Job Duty must serve on dissertation committees as a member and/or dissertation chairperson; Job Duty assist in the recruitment of undergraduate students to the BBA programs along with other school programs; Job Duty undertake the "Standard Instructional/Research/Service Workload" as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual; Job Duty provide course and classroom conduct as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual; Job Duty comply with the university Faculty/Staff Policy Manual teach and be assigned undergraduate/and/or graduate courses based on course needs; Job Duty provide academic advisement of students; Job Duty conduct office/conference hours; Job Duty submit textbook requests; Job Duty ensure School compliance with the standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Accrediting Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP); Job Duty comply with announced requirements; Job Duty engage in professional development; Job Duty support the development, implementation, evaluation and preparation of annual reports of the Strategic Plan as related to their department and academic programs within the school; Job Duty serve as mentor to graduate students, Job Duty fulfill the university's scholarship expectation through research, publication, grant development, and creative achievement; Job Duty assess, assist, and guide face-to-face full time and adjunct undergraduate faculty under the direction of the chair and dean; Job Duty provide information for enrollment, assessment, retention reports to the dean as directed by the chair and dean, Job Duty provide committee service; Job Duty attend department, school, and university faculty meetings; Job Duty participate in community and public service opportunities; Job Duty attend commencement activities; Job Duty participate in annual faculty evaluation; Job Duty perform other duties as assigned.
