Gilbane is seeking a highly technical and motivated Estimating Executive to join our team. Reporting to the Preconstruction Director, this person will hold overall responsibility on all Estimating efforts initially for a significant (appx $4B), five year healthcare construction management project with more work to follow. Gilbane's Estimating Executives typically oversee other Estimating staff and possess a strong understanding of Gilbane’s value proposition to deliver to prospective clients.

As an Estimating Executive, you will:
Visualize, analyze and communicate project scope of work
Coordinate and execute tasks of estimating personnel assigned to a specific estimate
Monitor and follow up on staff’s assigned duties
Coordinate cost/means and methods with Client and design team and prepare preliminary cost estimates/budgets
Work with Design Team to reconcile cost estimates
Analyze General Condition costs to determine company overhead
Manage Value Engineering Process
Provide input for Fee Proposals
Prepare all Indirect Costs
Review and coordinate project-specific insurance requirements
Prepare General Conditions/Site Services Costs
Understands all disciplines in estimating
Leads staff to assure accuracy in estimating process, procedures and review requirements are met
Delivers and presents estimates to clients during pursuits and design phase process
Ability to sell company’s strengths and experience
Ability to preserve/reconcile all aspects of the estimate presentation while in front of a group/with client
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
10-15 years of relevant experience
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Healthcare construction estimating experience on a project $100M+
Familiar with Healthcare facilities and related system costs. Understanding of medical systems and related construction and equipment costs
Ideally able to estimate all types of building projects, including residential, mixed-use, high rise, interiors and institutional
Knowledge of suitable mechanical and electrical contractors and suppliers for all types of projects
Familiar with both union and merit shop contractors preferred
Knowledge of typical mechanical/electrical pricing for project types above
Able to take concept and schematic drawings and develop meaningful estimates
Familiarity with estimating software and On Screen take-off software preferred
