Position Summary The Chief Inspector, serving as the primary authority for inspection at our Part 145 Certified Repair Station, develops, implements, and monitors the inspection program to ensure that the maintenance of aircraft and associated equipment conforms to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufactures' specifications.

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance and to the VP Aircraft Maintenance they possess the final authority to release airframes, engines, propellers, appliances, and emergency equipment to service.

Works closely with all maintenance staff to ensure adherence to all standards, policies, procedures, and serves as a liaison with local FAA.

Monitors and makes recommendations on changes to the Part 145 Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM) and other quality related programs within MXA.

This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations, and the ability to work independently to maintain regulatory compliance and uphold industry standards.

Essential Functions Statements * Provide inspection coverage as specified by the task being performed, to ensure the task is properly completed.

* Perform thorough inspections of aircraft, components, and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.

* Develop and maintain inspection procedures, manuals, and documentation systems to ensure thorough and accurate record-keeping and reporting.

* Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, representing the company during audits, inspections, and investigations.

* Final review of paperwork for completeness.

Ensure that appropriate entries are made in permanent maintenance records and that only authorized signatures are used for airworthiness release and logbook entries.

Ensure access to latest revision of all documents and logbook entries, technical information necessary to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alterations.

* Ensure access to latest revision of pertinent FAR's, FAA Advisory Circulars, FAA Type Certificate Data Sheets for Aircraft, Engines and Propellers and FAA Airworthiness Directives.

* Change and revise as necessary the Part 145 RSQCM.

Changes will be coordinated with the Director of Maintenance and VP of Maintenance respectively.

* Maintains calibration programs to include records for precision tool/test equipment and ensures that this equipment is calibrated within the specified frequency.

This includes precision equipment owned by technicians and inspection personnel.

* Oversee Inspection of incoming material, parts, components, and appliances.

Ensures proper identification, storage/protection, segregation of serviceable, un-repairable and rejected items, and proper tags/identifications.

* Monitor aircraft discrepancy records to ascertain that corrective action has been taken on all mechanical irregularities listed by the pilot, in accordance with procedures specified in the manual.

* Submit reports of defects or unairworthy conditions to the FAA if warranted.

* Ensure proper execution of the prescribed FAA forms for major repair or major alteration.

* Assist any authorized representative of the FAA in conducting an inspection of company operated aircraft or company facilities.

* Oversees the quality of the work performed on company aircraft or customer managed aircraft by both internal and external maintenance providers.

* Maintains weight and balance records and schedules re-weighs as required by respective maintenance programs.

* Will initiate any changes found necessary in the maintenance inspection program and its policies and procedures to ensure compliance by analysis and surveillance of the program.

* When utilizing the MEL, the Chief Inspector is responsible for the proper documentation of the deferral per established procedures.

* Authorizes special flight permits when required for aircraft on CAMP (FAA) or CAMO (EASA) * Is the main representative to the FAA on day-to-day part 145 issues.

* Authorized to change and sign 145 operation specifications.\ * Authorizes and audits contracted vendors working on MXA managed aircraft, including internal audits of MXA maintenance facilities and procedures.

* Reviews and approves and maintains records of persons performing RII functions.

* Administer all computer maintenance tracking programs subscriptions.

* Develop and maintain all required part 145 manuals including the development of forms as necessary.

* Oversee the complete record keeping associated with the training program, including the scheduling and compliance with required computer based or classroom training.

* Maybe be called upon to provide technical, procedural or regulatory required training.

* Performs self-evaluation of repair station when adding aircraft to the capabilities list.

* Establish procedures for all customer aircraft worked on by the repair station.

* Collaborate on, support, and implement the initiatives and directives of senior management.

* Interface effectively with customers external and internal, including flight crews, charter coordinators, accounting, and senior management.

* Assist the Director of Maintenance as requested.

* Conduct investigations into incidents, discrepancies, and non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures, as necessary.

Competency Statements * Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, including Part 145 requirements, process and interaction with DER, DAR, Experimental Aircraft, STC, returning aircraft to Standard Configuration and ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards effectively.

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues or discrepancies during inspections, with a focus on maintaining airworthiness and safety.

* Proficient in developing and maintaining inspection procedures, manuals, and documentation systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Supervisory Responsibility Supervise and direct personnel assigned to Quality Control Department, including personnel delegated inspection functions.

(Designated Inspectors) Work Environment This job operates primarily in an office and maintenance facility setting.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, as well as equipment needed in the routine inspection of aviation maintenance work.

At times, exposed to hot and humid environments of an aircraft hangar typically found in Florida.

Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m.

Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs.

Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Facility Location: 4751 Jim Walter Blvd., Tampa Fl, 33706, Hangar 7B Travel 5%-10% Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates Education: High School Diploma Experience: With no college degree, at least 15 years of Part 145 Experience, with at least 5 years as an inspector.

Certificates and Licenses: * Valid Driver's License * A&P (Airframe & Power Plant) * I/A (Inspector Authorization) Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Maintenance Management or other related aviation degree.

Experience: 10+ years of Part 145 Experience, with at least 3 yrs.

as an Inspector.

Certificates and Licenses: In addition to the required licenses above, Aviation Safety, Quality Management, AS9100, EASA CAMO and/or regulatory compliance licenses or certificates are a plus.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.

Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
