3rd Shift CNC Programmer & Operator

3RD SHIFT CNC PROGRAMMER - FORT WAYNE, INDIANA

A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Ft. Wayne, Indiana area needs a 3rd Shift CNC Programmer. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidates will maintain CNC equipment and be responsible for programing and set-up of various 3-axis CNC machines. Duties will also include support of all preventative maintenance programs within an automotive environment. Typical machined materials include aluminum and steel parts, and production tooling components for the automotive industry.

Programming CNC code from provided CAD data utilizing Mastercam X software

Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required

Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required

Operate other toolroom equipment as needed, i.e., manual mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, overhead crane, saw, etc.

Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues

Ensuring that the customer s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree from a technical university or equivalent years of experience

Minimum 3 years of experience on 3D cad/cam system

Minimum 5 years knowledge of metal cutting and machining process

Strong problem-solving techniques & communication skills

Production tooling experience an asset

Ability to read & interpret blue prints
