The Cash Application Rep is responsible for applying a high volume of inbound daily cash within the Cash Applications Department; a department supporting all areas of Children’s Hospital and Health System as part of the revenue cycle. The Cash Applications Rep must provide exemplary service to ensure timely and accurate application of manual and electronic payments, denials & payer correspondence, all while working to meet the goals defined by Leadership. Reconcile postings with bank account and record journal entries daily. Research discrepancies related to cash receipts/postings and assist in resolution. Collaborates with other members of the Revenue Cycle team, bank staff, clearinghouse, and payers representatives.

High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

Requires 1 year of experience in cash posting, follow up or related revenue cycle.

Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.

Advanced and accurate typing and data entry skills are essential.

Ability to read and interpret payer explanation of benefits and distinguish various components required for accurate insurance payment posting.

Ability to adapt to frequent changes in duties in a high volume, fast paced, collaborative environment.

Ability to prioritize and manage large volumes of cash receipt activity.

Manage time efficiently and work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel in order to update worksheets to summarize cash application activity.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Analytical skills and ability to perform non complex arithmetic calculations.

The ability to function effectively in a team environment and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, leadership, staff, and other customers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.

Hospital or large practice setting experience preferred.

Epic experience is strongly preferred.
