Position: VDI Project Manager

Location: Princeton, NJ

Duration: 4 Months

Job Description:

In this role, you will play a crucial role in project management, with a focus on implementing VDI solutions to enhance workforce productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive project plans for VDI implementations, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and deliverables.

Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, define project objectives, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead cross-functional project teams consisting of architects, engineers, administrators, and vendors to execute VDI projects effectively and efficiently.

Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success, and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to procure hardware, software, and services required for VDI implementations, and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Establish quality standards and metrics for VDI projects, and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Facilitate change management processes to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth transitions for end-users migrating to VDI environments.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and post-implementation reviews.

Coordinate training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for end-users and support staff to promote adoption and proficiency with VDI technologies.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years of experience managing VDI projects from initiation to closure.

Familiarity with VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS), as well as cloud-based VDI solutions like Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).

Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams to achieve project goals and overcome challenges.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are preferred but not required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant professional training are a plus.
