Team function

The Infrastructure Engineering team engages in the design, development and review of solutions that span multiple infrastructure teams and other IT teams within the company. We work with a broad range of project and delivery teams to help develop optimized solution designs to meet functional and non-functional requirements for the business units and IT organization.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Designs, documents, and implements the organization’s short-term IT infrastructure needs, including computer systems and/or the network environment.

Analyzes the needs of the organization and translate business requirements into detailed technical infrastructure specifications.

Researches and designs best fit infrastructure solutions based on current standards and strategies.

Reviews and adapts infrastructure plans to meet technology requirements and business processes.

Writes documentation to describe infrastructure development, configuration, and corrections.

Performs technical analysis of software, hardware, and/or network systems.

Guides the configuration, testing, debugging, and support for implementation and delivery of the organization’s infrastructure.

Provides support for business continuity/planning for all infrastructure services.

Participates in root cause investigations and provides recommendations for preventative measures.

Proactively addresses gaps with existing infrastructure processes and documentation.

May collaborate with Architects to conduct feasibility analysis, technical research, and develop proof of concepts.

Collaborates with internal groups and external vendors to ensure infrastructure installations meet specifications and ensure the resolution of issues as they arise. Responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

May serve as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.

Ensures integration of internal and external infrastructure services.

May lead the work of others (mentors, prioritizes, delegates, and review assignments).

May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management of direct reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

: Generally, 8 to 10 years of related experience.
