MEMS Debug Intern is responsible for a dedicated research project (e.g., MS thesis work) focused on development of advanced MEMS characterization tools. This position involves mechanical and electrical design, hands-on tool optimization, data collection, SW development and theoretical models analysis. The successful candidate is detail oriented and curious about MEMS field.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Responsible for a dedicated research project focused on development of advanced MEMS characterization tools

· Explore literature and identify state of the art methodologies for the research project

· Design of electronic and mechanical interfaces

· Interface with MEMS development engineers and electronic design engineers

· Perform bench level testing and data collection of existing MEMS devices to validate the tool

· Develop data extraction and processing software

· Compare measurement results with expectations from theoretical models

· Write academic papers describing relevant outcome of the work

QUALIFICATION & EDUCATION:

· Currently registered for a MS in Mechanical / Structural / Civil / Electronics Engineering or Physics.

· Attended classes on:

Mechanical System Dynamics

Structural design

Finite element modeling

Experimental activities and measurements

Data analysis and statistics

· Curious about MEMS device, accelerometer and gyroscope mechanical structures.

· Willing to learn in the following fields:

o MEMS mechanical structures design

o MEMS/ASIC interaction

o MEMS fabrication process

o Measurements data analysis software

o Programming languages (MATLAB, Python or similar languages)

o MEMS devices bench level testing

o Measurement systems troubleshooting

· Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills

· Interested in working in an international/multicultural environment

· Diligent, detail-oriented, and willing to take initiative
