At Daikin Applied, the Controls Test Engineer II will design, modify, develop, and implement software programming applications for the HVAC lab and production testing equipment for improved control and reduced test time.

They will be expected to participate in the testing process through test plan development, test review and analysis, and software certification providing automated test scripts and plans.

A Day in the Life: * Interfaces with internal client groups to understand all planned projects and meet project schedule deadlines with a focus on chillers testing.

* Designs and models testing software for chiller and lab equipment and systems for commercial, industrial, domestic and internal purposes.

* Designs and directs engineering personnel in the fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.

* Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.

* Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

* Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field and internal installations.

* Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

* Requires knowledge of principles and practices of engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry.

* PC skills including Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of object-oriented software development required.

* Experience with C++, HTML, Linux OS, and LabView preferred.

Experience with PLC’s and HVAC is a plus.

* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.

* Extensive problem-solving and computer skills.
