Title: Electronic Technician II State Role Title: Equipment Service and Repair Technician I Hiring Range: Commensurate with Experience Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Develop Location: Piedmont Geriatric Hospital Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) and Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR) is recruiting for an Electronic Technician II (Equipment Service and Repair Technician I) to serve the following campuses as shared services: Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH), located in Burkeville, Virginia is a 123-bed, gero-psychiatric hospital, operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), located in Burkeville, VA is a behavioral treatment center recognized for its excellence by securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders.

VCBR provides recovery, opportunity and support to residents so they may safely return to their communities and is the only facility in the Commonwealth that provides such service.

The Electronic Technician II's role is to provide a central point of contact for operation of all security doors, gates, pipe chase doors, and office doors.

This includes preventative maintenance on all doors and locks throughout the facility.

This position will also serve on the Security Systems team to help troubleshoot issues with door controls and door positioning switches.

Assist with repair of locks.

Minimum Qualifications * Extensive knowledge of operational and maintenance procedures for commercial structures * Knowledge of secure access control systems * Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written * Analytical problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex technical problems * Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic security systems * Knowledge of lock and lock system construction and operation * Knowledge of Door Sliders and components * Knowledge of low voltage power controls Additional Considerations * Considerable experience working in secured facility Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
