Avionics Lead Position Reports to: Maintenance Manager Location: Fargo Jet Center - Fargo ND Summary and Purpose: This rewarding position provides guidance and oversite while working side by side with the team of skilled avionics technicians.

The avionics department is responsible for servicing and repairing aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness according to specifications and standards.

Essential Job Functions: * Provide leadership to the Avionics Department; schedule avionics technicians to projects, monitor workflow status, maintain equipment, and provide cost estimates * Maintain safe, quality, and efficient Avionics Department operations * Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshoot malfunctions of aircraft avionics and electrical systems components, such as, ADS-B, WAAS GPS, Airborne Navigation & Communication systems, Weather Radar, Autopilot, Compass systems, Audio Panels & Intercoms, and accessories in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines (aircraft such as Piper, Cessna, Pilatus, Hawker Beech, Gulfstream, and other general aviation & corporate aircraft) * Communicate with team leads & other team members to ensure effective workflow and coordination between related departments * Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner as they arise during scheduled tasks * Complete all checklists, forms, and reports as required in accordance with the company, government, and FAA regulations and guidelines * Maintain adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility's Inspection Procedures Manual * Responsible to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Experience and Competencies: * Degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university or technical school in avionics maintenance or electronics required or equivalent experience * Minimum of 4 year of supervisor/management experience * A&P License a plus * Repairman Certificate a plus * FCC General Radiotelephone License a plus * Experience with General Aviation/Corporate aircraft * Understanding of aircraft component repair * Knowledge of avionics, electronic and electrical test equipment * Awareness of U.S.

government regulations for federal contractors and FAA maintenance programs * Exercise initiative and independent judgement * Self-starter who operates with integrity and trust * Build and develop strong internal and external relationships * Focus on team environment * Strong verbal and written communication skills Physical Requirements: * Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling * Ability to work in small spaces, extreme temperatures, heights above six feet, and noise of an airport EEO/AAP/Drug Free Workplace
