National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) CREO Design Engineer

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) CREO design engineer to work in our Reactor Project Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off. This is virtual/remote position.

The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for applicants as a National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) CREO design engineer. The NRIC CREO Design Engineer will be the technical contact concerning NRIC project model management and product lifecycle management. You will report to the manager of the department.

Responsibilities Include:

You will also perform engineering support for the facility and project digital twin efforts to support the digital engineering transformation initiative. You will be in the Reactor Project Engineering department at MFC and supporting the NRIC project portfolio.

INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for the Department of Energy (DOE). The NRIC testbeds provide a unique capability to allow testing of first of a kind reactor. Main Functions of this role are:

• Be a subject matter expert on the PTC CREO suite of tools (including piping, cabling, schematics) to create designs that use fully parametric models and associated drawings and documents.

• Support projects by being the system engineer as assigned by manager or project lead, allowing the production of fully parametric designs that can support a digital twin.

• Responsible for maintaining the real-time as-built configuration of NRIC projects up to date throughout fabrication and construction changes.

• Ensure the process and workflows in the PLM system are followed to ensure that reviews and ultimately design verification is completed appropriately.

• Ensure projects use digital engineering tools and parametric techniques to the maximum extent possible in the creation of engineering deliverables.

• Responsible for progressing the transition to digital engineering tools for the department and ensuring that proper engineering process, design tools, and configuration management are developed and implemented.

Minimum Requirements:

PR0200/PR0300 – Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years’ experience, Masters and 1-3 year, or PhD and 0 to 2 years' experience

Proficient in the use of the PTC CREO suite of tools

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Job Information:

Salary Grade: PR0200 210 – ($95,928 - $158,232)/ PR0300 220 – ($110,316 - $181,956)

TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
