Under limited supervision, the Preconstruction Manager is responsible to coordinate all aspects of design build and hard bid technical proposal assembly prior to award, followed by negotiating subcontracts for construction while working closely with the project manager and/or construction manager utilizing the buyout process as a project specific knowledge transfer vehicle.

The Preconstruction Manager will also provide cost control support and guidance after award.

Close coordination and communication with sales, estimating, construction, engineering, and senior management is essential in fulfilling this role.

* Normally requires a 4-year degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Estimating or similar and 4-10 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction OR 10+ years equivalent education and experience * Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory * Experience with multitasking and delegating tasks * Experience leading bids / proposals in value from $5 Million to $200 Million+ is desired.

* Experience with the conceptual phase of proposal assembly is required * Strong Microsoft Excel skills including compound formulas, linking sheets and workbooks, vertical look ups, horizontal look ups, circular reference calculations, concatenate function, etc.

* Strong understanding of construction processes including on site experience * Strong presentation skills within the organization and to individuals outside of the organization * Up to 25% travel required.
