Senior Design Engineer (093836)

Support Engineering efforts on development, prototype, project execution, and plant/business system implementation. Work with blower and vacuum product lines to improve design, performance, and/or manufacturing process. Produce cost effective designs, complex layouts assemblies, detail parts drawings, and generate associated bills of materials. Design and implement test programs to ensure designs are adequate for intended purpose and meet specifications and functional requirements. Evaluate existing products for re-design based on feedback from manufacturing, quality, or assembly and assess functionality to determine product effectiveness for customers. Collect product data via reports, manufacturing, assembly, and testing. Provide technical guidance to team members including Sourcing, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing with respect to product-based education and decisions. Work with team to standardize product offering through product rationalization and new product development. Work closely with Customer Service, Field Service, and Manufacturing personnel to resolve issues regarding legacy and new products.

2 days/week WFH allowed.

Up 15% travel required (1-2 weeks/quarter).

3 years of experience (OR 5 year’s with Bachelor’s degree) as a Quality Assurance Specialist or related occupation in the automotive manufacturing sector.

Must include some experience with:

- Rotating equipment design and manufacturing – shafts, housings, bearing selection, seals, fastening and locating components, covers

- Modeling with PTC Creo & Autodesk Inventor

- PLM tools

- Computer aided engineering with Ansys Workbench

- SAP ECC 6.0

- Plant manufacturing operations – Design for Manufacturing & Assembly, fixture design

- Fabrication and Component design – sheet metal, injection molding, casting, machined parts,

- Tolerance stack up analysis

- Research and development – test fixture design, test plan development

Master’s OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related. Foreign equivalents accepted.
