The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Broadcast Systems Support Engineer for our Broadcast Operations Team at our Headquarters office in Springfield, VA.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Broadcast System Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our broadcast systems and infrastructure. This role requires expertise in a variety of broadcast technologies, quick problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of industry standards and regulations. The role is key in maintaining high-quality broadcasts and supporting live production needs. Additionally, Incumbent will do installation, integration, and configuration of broadcast systems.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities noted with bullets are considered the essential functions of the job).

Provides system and component-level maintenance of MBN broadcast systems.

Installs, repairs, and maintains digital audio and video broadcast equipment.

Installs, repairs, and maintains contribution and distribution systems at both local and remote sites as assigned.

Provides technical support to end users as required.

Reads and uses electronic schematic and systems diagrams effectively.

Documents quality standards, system anomalies, operational procedures, and reference materials as required.

Contributes or leads system installation, upgrade or maintenance project work as assigned.

Uses all required computer systems and operating systems efficiently and effectively.

Demonstrates ability to understand, utilize and support IP based audio and video equipment.

OTHER DUTIES:

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four year technical degree (preferably electronics), or equivalent education/experience/training.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in radio and/or television, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of broadcast systems.

Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems.

Ability to kneel and lift to 50 lbs.

Ability to work on ladders and in confined spaces as required by tasks.

Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and an interest in developing new strategies.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively and solid organizational skills.

Demonstrated overall understanding of the news and programming production process.

A strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution.

A commitment to excellence and to ongoing education in broadcast engineering and IT and to the mastery of their craft.

Demonstrated knowledge of digital and IP based television broadcast equipment preferred.

Previous experience or familiarity with the use of AutoCAD software is desirable.

Arabic language skills and cultural knowledge are desirable.

Knowledge of Dalet MAM, Pebble Beach automation and playout servers, VizRT on-air graphics systems, SMPTE 2110 environments, LAWO VSM, and IP based Audio/Video systems and workflows is preferred.

Knowledge of bonded cellular technology and systems is preferred.
