GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage systems such as security systems, CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and telecommunications equipment. Your expertise in low voltage systems will ensure the safety and functionality of these systems for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems including security systems, CCTV, access control, and telecommunications equipment.

Perform regular maintenance on low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.

Test and diagnose issues with low voltage systems using appropriate tools and equipment.

Provide basic setup, installation, and testing services for the following: Phone Systems, Wireless systems (AP, Antennas), and Network devices (routers, switches, servers)

Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.

Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.

Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide solutions accordingly.

Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.

Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.

Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.

Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by CoLiant, our customers, or OSHA.Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

2 years of previous experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician or similar role.

Knowledge and experience with CCTV, Point-of-Sale, Security, and Alarm Systems is a plus.

Knowledge and experience with Point-of-Sale system, TV / monitor, and media player installations is a plus.

Industry-specific certifications are a huge plus (NICET, BICSI, Siemon, Panduit, Belden, Corning).

Knowledgeable of all industry standards (NEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI).

Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for installation and repair work.

Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.

Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with low voltage systems.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing low voltage systems.

Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and work at heights.

Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.

Proficient with the use of smartphones, laptop computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs.

Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
