A restaurant accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of a restaurant. Their main responsibilities include:

Financial record-keeping: Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses. This involves entering data into accounting software, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial files.

Budgeting and forecasting: Developing and monitoring budgetary guidelines for the restaurant. This includes analyzing financial data to identify patterns and trends and using this information to create forecasts for future financial performance.

Financial analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to evaluate the restaurant's financial health and identify areas for improvement. This includes analyzing sales data, food and beverage costs, labor expenses, and other key financial metrics.

Cost control: Monitoring and controlling costs to ensure the restaurant operates within budget. This includes implementing cost-saving strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and analyzing pricing structures to optimize profitability.

Payroll management: Overseeing the restaurant's payroll process, including calculating wages, preparing paychecks, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Financial reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for management and external stakeholders.

Collaboration with management: Collaborating with restaurant managers to provide financial insights and recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency.

Internal controls: Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard the restaurant's assets and prevent fraud or financial mismanagement.

Stay updated with industry trends: Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and news to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Job Requirements

1- University Degree in Accounting

2- 5 Years of Experience in Accounting

3- Experience in restaurant operations, food and Beverage industry, food cost, etc.

4- Excellent Communication and writing skills in English and Arabic
