Piping Designer

Job Description

TSR is seeking a Piping Designer with to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long term contract position in Richmond, VA. Position will be onsite only with a flexible work schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, develop detailed scopes.

Work from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping systems for chemical facility.

Create isometrics, pipe supports

Ensures that completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintain

Interface with other disciplines

Qualifications

Knowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment

Proficient in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation, E3D or PDMS is preferred

Must have extensive fieldwork experience in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments

Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts

Physical Requirements

Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes

Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots

Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20lbs frequently

Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
