Lab Technician

For the expansion of our lab team, argenx is looking for a lab technician for full-time working out of the offices in Ghent (Belgium).

Responsibilities:

The position will have amongst others the following key responsibilities:

In close collaboration with your team members and the lab responsible you will support the operations in the lab by:

Helping in the media kitchen: make buffers and mixtures needed in the lab, cleaning and sterilizing glasswork

Help on small operational tasks such as organizing samples, labeling them accurately, and recording on the system

Perform basic experimental work assisting scientists and medical professionals

Co-responsible for material orders and follow up

Co-responsible for equipment preparation and maintenance

Profile:

Higher secondary technical degree or equivalent, by preference chemistry oriented

Good communication skills in Dutch and English (both spoken and in written)

Former experience in working in lab environments

Experience with administrative tasks

Can work reliably, autonomously and accurately

Strong sense for quality and proper housekeeping

Can plan and execute a routine job without continuous supervision

Excellent team player

Good knowledge of office software (MSWord, MSExcel)

You are based in the Ghent area, willing to work out of the Zwijnaarde office and are available to start on short notice
