Structures Technician III - B Shift

Location: Merritt Island, Florida

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Compensation: $46.20 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Structures Technician III to join our B Shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and testing aerospace structures. This role requires setting up new production work areas, transitioning from development to production, and ensuring that all activities meet engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.

Responsibilities:

Manufacture, assemble, and test aerospace structures for both the first and second stages.

Set up production areas with necessary tooling and equipment.

Assist in the transition from development to production, including managing first articles.

Conduct hardware inspections and perform second party verifications according to engineering specifications.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions through modification, rework, repair, and maintenance.

Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.

Operate precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and optical measuring instruments.

Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety and efficiency in the workplace.

Maintain work areas to support organizational standards for cleanliness, foreign object damage, and electrostatic discharge.

Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and maintain professional relationships.

Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and structures.

Proficient in drilling aluminum, composite, and titanium structures.

Must have experience in either primary or secondary structure drilling.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications.

Excellent communication skills and basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office).

Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Must meet U.S. person requirements as defined by the U.S. government.

Preferred:

Industry certifications, trade school training, or a degree in a related field.

Experience with large aerospace structures and tight tolerance assemblies.

Experience in new product introductions and Lean Manufacturing environments.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.

Military experience and the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
