Position Summary:
This position is for a manager for engineering group in Bangalore, India. This person will have knowledge about electrical and mechanical components and assemblies. The manager will oversee a team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, document/configuration control engineers and technical writers. This position focuses on managing the team for sustaining efforts for existing products (e.g., support for regional production and manufacturing engineering teams) and NPI (new product introduction) projects as well.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering team to define solutions for sustaining and new product development activities for fuel dispensers built and sold in North America
Collaborate with senior leaders to develop product strategies and development plans
Develop, supervise and refine development plans
Continually identify and communicate critical priorities
Align and lead multifunctional team with clear priorities and timelines
Support the operations team in the manufacture and shipment of final products
Support field service teams in troubleshooting issues at customer sites
Support customer service teams in response to customer inquiries
Design develop, and document (using 3D CAD software) new dispenser components and modules
Drive design reviews for solutions with stakeholders
Responsible for the hiring, on-boarding, training and development, mentoring support for the team members as needed.
Responsible for performance management of team members and able to recommend suitable merit increase on yearly basis. Create high performance culture in the team and also handle critical conversations and give feedback, as needed.
Candidate Experience and Qualification:
B.E/ B.Tech in engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineering)
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience and out of which minimum 3-5 years in people management.
Knowledge of UL hazardous area zoning requirements for fuel dispensers
Preferrable experience in SolidWorks CAD system
Experience with PDM systems, change control, part number and configuration management
Experience with engineering development methods
Experience working with United States based teams for
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Experience working with manufacturing environment
Experience working with prototype/machine shops
Experience working on cross-functional design teams
Ability to multi-task and drive sophisticated programs
Ability to empower and lead multifunctional team
