SUMMARY

The Senior Security Automation Engineer will report to the CIRT (Cyber Incident Response Team) Manager and will support GameStop’s global security program by maintaining and developing automated security processes. This is an advanced role looking for a highly capable individual contributor able to work with a large existing code base, understand functional requirements, and quickly address the needs of dependent teams. Candidates should have a strong background in Python and experience creating automated workflows, understanding how to thoroughly test edge cases to ensure proper outcomes, and good communication skills to interpret and translate needs into code.

This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, TX.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope, design, and gather requirements needed to create new automation

Maintain and develop security automation to support monitoring and response capabilities

Support analysts by resolving issues in automation, implementing new features, and providing guidance on usage

Document newly created or updated automated processes

Collaborate with team members across security, IT, and the business

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of hands-on experience in a related or technical field

Programming experience in Python

Experience with Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR) platforms

Ability to translate functional requirements into an implementation plan

Strong analytical mindset

Ability to work with diverse datasets and tools

Understanding of common threat actor techniques

Troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to quickly learn new technology

Must work well on a highly collaborative team

Optional Skills and Experience

Security operations, threat hunting, or incident response experience

System administration experience

Publicly available profiles demonstrating skills and participation in the wider security community (e.g. GitHub, HackTheBox)
