Senior Field Network Specialist

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Industry certifications are preferred. Previous work experience in a foreign country is a plus.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to obtain an Egyptian Security clearance.

Position includes International Relocation Package to Cairo, Egypt.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Field Network Specialist. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The Senior Field Network Specialist will work on the maintenance of a legacy TDM network and the maintenance/upgrade/expansion of a new VoIP network for a GDMS customer in Egypt.

Responsibilities of the position include:

Supervising a team of personnel in the maintenance and upgrade of the network, including but not limited to the TDM Switches; Cisco Routers; Microwave Transmission System; Fiber Transmission systems such as PDH and SDH; Power Systems (Battery Chargers, Battery and Solar Systems); Access Equipment (Channel Banks, ADSL, CPE); Video Systems; Operation and Maintenance System

Creating/Maintaining Network Documentation (facilities layout, equipment list, detailed wire run lists and network design)

Facilities Installation Design, test procedures and preventive maintenance programs

Frequent travel to customer facilities is required often requiring overnight stays at the facilities.

Must be willing to work in less than desirable conditions and to work closely with the customer in operation and the maintenance of the system.

Leadership and inter-personal skills in dealing with the customer is a must.

Full understanding of Voice over IP

Experience with network backbone equipment is desired.

Knowledge of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and experience with network security is beneficial.

Prior experience is a plus.

Workplace Options:

This position is fully on-site. While on-site, you will be a part of the Cairo, Egypt team (will require moving to Egypt).

Work week schedule will be Sunday through Thursday.

First week will be in Dedham, MA for onboarding/training.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $90,112.00 - USD $99,968.00 /Yr.
