HDR is looking for a Senior Strategic Communications Consultant to join our practice in Phoenix, AZ. This position requires an experienced communications professional that is passionate about strategic communications and
stakeholder engagement in the Highways and Roads sector. They will join an industry leading practice of more than 150 communication-consulting practitioners across North America who deliver strategic communications services to
client organizations in the architecture, engineering, and planning industry.
In the role of Sr. Strategic Communications Consultant, we'll count on you to:
Providing advisory and consulting services to executive level leadership in the transportation industry
In partnership with the Transportation Strategic Communication Director and Area Strategic Communications BC Leader, lead market development for Strategic Communications in the Highways and Roads Market Sector and across other Business Groups and Market Sectors
Manage and lead strategic communication projects and tasks
Lead campaign development activities including target audience analysis, branding, messaging, and market research
Directing customer-facing communication in a variety of mediums including social, print, video and web
Leading concept development, writing and editing of collateral materials such as surveys, newsletters, websites, handouts, videos, advertisements, press releases and public notices
Leading social and political strategy development on planning, design, and construction projects
Coordinating with creative disciplines including graphic design, web development and social media to maintain consistency of brand, saturation of messaging, and user experience
Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience, including management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and ability to work independent with multiple teams as well as team oriented
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills - positive outlook and attitude
High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Comfortable and competent while working with senior leaders and managing cross-functional efforts
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values
