Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician, you are responsible for working to IPC and military standards, comprising of work being performed in lab and plant environments with multiple levels of difficulty using a variety of tools, fixtures and measuring equipment.

Your Challenge:

Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).

Full understanding of engineering drawings and wiring schematics.

Ability to follow and create work instructions.

Work safely with a variety of tools, materials, solutions, and coatings.

Soldering and assembling to IPC and military standards.

IPCJ, IPC 620, and IPC 610

Time management, multi-tasking, and communicating on a daily basis.

Work as a team and participate to continually improve operations and the facility.

Understand the departments work load and participate in overtime to meet customer requirements.

Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in their investigations.

What You Bring:

3 years previous experience in electrical/mechanical assembly.

To be able to read engineering drawings and wiring schematics.

Troubleshoot electrical sub-assemblies, harnesses, boards, etc.

Solder to IPC J-STD-001, along with harness building experience.

Ability to work safely, while maintaining quality at a high efficiency.

Experience with a variety of crimpers, wire strippers, mechanical hand tools, meters, and gauges.

Identify opportunities for improvements during the build process for new and existing assemblies.

Excellent communication skills, plus the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

Post-secondary education in an electrical related field (certificate or diploma).

Must be eligible to meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and a Canadian Government security clearance.
