JOB SUMMARY: This role will report to the plant manager and assist in the overall operation of the facility (safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost), strategy development and deployment, new product documentation and validation, process improvements, and in providing functional direction to group and team leads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of both group leads and production workers - Proactively seeks ways to apply technology to business processes - Researches and provides information on technical trends and competitors’ practices - Collaborates with functional area managers on the determination of materials, space, equipment and personnel needs as well as the development and implementation of processes, procedures, assignment and execution of functional responsibilities, and determination of budget and costs constraints - Assists in the initiation of engineering projects and new product introduction, including the creation of BOMs, routings, and “build sheets” for team members - Obtain a deep understanding of our products, processes, and capabilities - Ensure the facility remains safe and accident free by highlighting and resolving safety issues - React to customer quality feedback to ensure products are meeting specifications – use corrective actions to contain problems, resolve issues, and sustain practices if specifications were not met - Gather feedback from shop floor employees to help drive continuous improvements SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE - Fiberglass reinforced product and process knowledge is highly desired - Able to work both independently and within a team - Self-starter who can balance managing short, medium, and long term projects - Must be flexible and innovative with a penchant for problem solving - Experienced in working with a wide range of business functions (engineering, accounting, finance, human resources, IT, supply chain, quality, sales and marketing) - Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel, and management level positions - Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment - Competent in the use of data for decision making - Bilingual in Spanish is a plus - Ability to communicate effectively - Experience using Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business - General to advanced understanding of chemistry - Ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday - May occasionally need to lift up to 45lbs - Some travel required, <10% PPE REQUIREMENTS - Safety Glasses - Safety Shoes NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
