Position Description:

The Commercial Driver / Fuel Technician role will be responsible for transporting Hazardous Waste (RCRA & Non-RCRA, i.e. Diesel, Gas, Oil, Oily Solids, Oily Water) from various job sites throughout the day. This position will split time between driving and technician duties. Each job site will require the Driver to exit the vehicle and load or unload drums. The Driver must be able to follow precise safety procedures during loading, transportation, and unloading. This position could require the individual to drive a maximum of 10 hours each day. Estimated 10 days of out-of-town nights required during a twelve-week period. No more than 3 nights in a row at any given time. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performing pre-trip truck inspections, loading tools, equipment, and parts as required for the day.

Driving extensive distances from office to job sites daily; occasionally staying out of town.

Making contact at the job site with client representatives.

Delivering empty barrels and/or removing full barrels to and from client sites; visiting up to six sites each day.

Checking tank monitoring systems for alarms or notifications.

Inspecting drums of waste; identifying, profiling, and labeling waste; loading and unloading drums to flatbed truck.

Climbing trucks/tanks up to 10ft high; positioning pump equipment and securing barrels during transportation.

Completing daily work orders.

Adhering to health and safety protocols.Minimum Required Work Experience:

2-3 years of driving experience needed (backing up 31’ trucks through narrow alleys).

2-3 years of Class A or B experience.

Class A or B Driver’s License with clean driving record; Tankers and/or HazMat endorsements preferred.

Previous experience completing drivers’ logbooks.

Must be able to work overtime and travel out of town with advanced notice.

Excellent communication and organizational skills; a desire to work in a position of high visibility both internal and external to the company. Preferred Education and Skills Experience:

Knowledge of petroleum industry.

Knowledge of PPE.

Knowledge of Veeder Root systems and current regulations; HazWoper, fall protection experience.

Basic computer literacy with email (completing fillable PDFs, etc.).Physical Requirements

Ability to drive extensive distances to job sites, occasionally up to 1,000 miles per week.

Ability to travel to job sites that may be dirt, cement, asphalt, uneven concrete, or construction zones.

Ability to read and interpret machine diagnostic reports.

Ability to lift and transport barrels weighing up to 500 lbs (with a hand truck and other assistance).

Ability to climb trucks/tanks up to 10 ft high, using proper fall protection PPE.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range for position: $25/hr - $35/hr
