As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be instrumental in helping us achieve our growth goals and continuing to build on our reputation of excellence. You will leverage our network of clients and partners to target, nurture, and qualify new opportunities.

Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives, specifically in the multifamily construction sector

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting, networking, and attending industry events and conferences

Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including developers, architects, contractors, and real estate investors

Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals, presentations, and other materials to support business development efforts

Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential opportunities for expansion

Track and report on business development activities, including leads, opportunities, and sales pipeline, using CRM software

Stay abreast of industry news, regulations, and best practices to ensure Southern Design Companies remains at the forefront of the multifamily construction market

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the light commercial/multifamily construction industry preferred

Proven track record of successfully identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities

Strong understanding of the multifamily construction market, including knowledge of key players, trends, and market dynamics

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software

Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
