Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Sustaining Engineering Manager for a direct hire position for their manufacturing client in Newnan, GA.

The Sustaining Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers, drafters, and specialists to ensure the continued reliability, performance, and quality of the company's products and services. This includes identifying and resolving product and process issues, managing design changes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

To be successful in this role, you must be a subject matter expert in one of these areas: die casting, metal stamping, plastic injection molding

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of sustaining engineers, drafters, and specialists.

Develop, implement, and supervise standard engineering processes, policies, and methods.

Identify and resolve product and process issues.

Manage design changes, including small-scale new product variation projects.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide regulatory reporting information to customers.

Maintain and operate product testing laboratory to validate old and new product designs.

Collaborate with other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and customer support, providing engineering assistance to support in all areas of the organization.

Develop and maintain technical documentation.

Stay up-to-date on the latest engineering technologies and best practices.

Serve on material review board to analyze and respond to customer complaints and disposition obsolete material. Make decisions for QC and Production when necessary related to product acceptance and criteria.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical engineering

5-10 years of experience in product engineering, with at least 3 years of management experience.

Preferred technical expertise overseeing and directing electronic and mechanical hardware design in a wide range of materials, overseeing regulatory certification functions applicable to the food service industry.

Expert knowledge of product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes.

Ability to think conceptually and analyze operation data affecting company resources.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Knowledge of Database software; Design software, Development software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
