Role Description

The Associate Attorney role is a full-time position at Cole Law Group located at our office in Brentwood, TN. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice to clients, conducting legal research, negotiating, and drafting legal documents, among other related tasks. Qualifications

Law school GPA of 3.0+ and / or placement in the top 30% of your class

Knowledge of the Clio practice management system

Strong competency in legal research, specifically Lexis

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Documented interest in litigation via work experience or participation in Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, or Law Journal

Good work ethic

Currently possesses a valid license to practice law in the State of Tennessee or will obtain their license by waiver or examination within nine months of hire

Works well in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment

Competency in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional particularly as used for bates stamping

Responsibilities

Assisting more senior Associates with hearing and trial preparation

Drafting pleadings, motions, and memoranda.

Working on discovery requests and responses

Managing deadlines in individual cases

Communicating with other law offices, clerks, and chambers in regard to various issues such as depositions, hearings, and trials

Covering procedural/administrative hearings
