Position: Laboratory Specimen Coordinator / Laboratory Shipping Coordinator

Location: Long Island, NY (On-site)

Duration: 6 month Contract, intent to hire after contract duration

Shift: 11am to 7pm or 10am to 6pm

Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Laboratory Specimen Coordinator / Laboratory Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Manhattan, NY. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of laboratory specimens and shipping processes.

Responsibilities:

Specimen Coordination:

Receive, log, and organize laboratory specimens ensuring accurate documentation.

Collaborate with laboratory staff to coordinate specimen processing and distribution.

Maintain meticulous records of specimen information, including storage details and tracking.

Shipping Coordination:

Prepare and package laboratory samples for shipping, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Coordinate with courier services to schedule and track specimen shipments.

Generate shipping documentation, including labels, manifests, and customs declarations.

Quality Control:

Perform quality checks on specimens to ensure integrity and adherence to quality standards.

Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to specimen handling and shipping.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of specimen and shipping activities.

Generate regular reports on specimen inventory, shipping status, and any relevant metrics.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to specimen handling and shipping.

Stay informed about industry best practices and changes in regulations.

Qualifications:

Minimum of an associate degree in a Science-related Field. Bachelor’s degree preferred

Proven experience in a laboratory environment, preferably with specimen coordination and shipping responsibilities.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines for specimen handling and shipping.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
