This role is for an algorithm development scientist with particular expertise in cardiovascular hemodynamics and the relationship of blood flow and pressure in the peripheral vasculature. As a member of our cross-disciplinary team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing algorithms for our innovative cuffless blood pressure sensor.
Responsibilities
Develop arterial-physics-based models that allow estimating physiological parameters from one or more optical signals data
Analyze clinical data sets from prototype sensors to inform algorithm design
Design experiments to characterize and troubleshoot prototype sensor performance
Work closely with the rest of the Sensors Product Engineering team as well as cross-functionally to support the execution of sensing technology roadmap that supports customer needs
Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.S. in physics, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, or computer science
Minimum 5 years’ experience in algorithm development
Expertise in cardiovascular hemodynamics in humans
Expertise in biomedical computational fluid dynamics and modeling physiological flows in humans
Working knowledge of the physics of optical sensing
Fluency with the scientific Python stack (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn) and collaboration through Git is ideal, but not required
Experience in regulated medical product or general wellness consumer product development is a plus
Demonstrated ability to develop algorithms that were validated using real-world data
Desire and ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
