Job Title: Salesforce Developer/Administrator

Reporting to: Sales Operations Manager

The Salesforce Developer/Administrator is responsible for managing and optimising our

Salesforce platform to support efficient sales and marketing operations. In this role, you will

work closely with our cross functional teams to ensure the Salesforce platform aligns with

business processes and supports our growth objectives. This role requires a strong blend of

technical proficiency and communication skills to effectively manage our Salesforce

environment and continuously improve the user experience.

Your expertise will contribute to data accuracy, user support, training, troubleshooting, and

driving system enhancements.

Responsibilities:

Design & Business Requirements:

• Work with stakeholders from different departments and cross functional teams to

understand what people need.

• Deliver appropriate needs analysis and design documentation (including user stories)

for all medium and large changes.

• Facilitate requirements acceptance and change approval processes in relation to the

Salesforce platform

• Business Process Mapping – create and maintain visual representations of business

processes

• Maintain user and business documentation once release cycles are completed

Salesforce Configuration and Customisation:

• Use declarative functionality (clicks not code) to deliver solutions using the

Salesforce platform.

• Understand and use programmatic development to deliver, test and deploy

solutions across Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript and HTML

• Ensure all users have the correct access to Salesforce and can perform their day-to-

day tasks with minimal friction.

• Ensure data and process controls are in place across the instance, delivering data

hygiene, security and process compliance.

• Utilise, maintain and configure advanced automation (Flow Builder) to streamline

and automate business processes.

• Configure and customize Salesforce in line with current Salesforce best practices,

with a full understanding of standard features/functionality and their trade-offs

when maintaining and customising the platform.

Data Management:

• Ensure data and process controls are in place across the instance, managing the

integrity and cleanliness of data within the instance without excessive manual

intervention.

• Conduct accurate data import and export operations (as required) while maintaining

data integrity during the transfer process.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data governance policies and

best practices.

• Maintain and manage a company wide data dictionary referencing all source and

destination systems related to Salesforce.

User Support and Documentation:

• Troubleshoot issues, answer simple salesforce questions and route/escalate

Salesforce support cases to relevant members of the Revenue Operations team.

• Create and maintain user documentation, training materials, and knowledge base

resources.

System Enhancements and Integration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for system

enhancements and recommend solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency

of Salesforce.

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess feasibility, and

manage the implementation of system enhancements.

• Coordinate with external partners and developers, if necessary, for system

integrations and custom development.

DevOps:

• Management of committing changes to source control, opening pull requests,

reviewing and merging the team’s work in source control.

• Setting up monitoring and continuously improving DevOps processes: CI/CD, test

automation and monitoring

• Oversee the company DevOps process end to end – including backups, delegating

access to different orgs and DevOps processes, and defining / tracking DevOps KPI’s.

• Running all final releases to production and rolling back or restoring if anything goes

wrong.

• Reviewing development code coverage (for apex related changes) using automated

unit testing and code quality analysis.

Native Reporting and Dashboards:

• Design and generate reports and dashboards in Salesforce to provide actionable

insights to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with business users to define reporting requirements and create

customised reports and dashboards in line with departmental processes and metrics.

• Monitor report utilisation and provide recommendations for enhancements to meet

evolving business needs.

System Maintenance and Upgrades:

• Stay updated with Salesforce releases and new features, assessing their impact on

our organization, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Manage system maintenance tasks, including managing user licenses, overseeing

regular data backups, and monitoring system performance.

• Coordinate with Salesforce support and vendors for issue resolution, escalation, and

managing enhancement requests.
