The GIS Field Surveyor Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and leading field survey activities to collect geospatial data for various projects.

This role involves planning, executing, and overseeing field surveys, managing a team of field surveyors, ensuring data accuracy and quality, and liaising with project managers and stakeholders to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities: 1.

Team Leadership: - Lead and supervise a team of field surveyors.

- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.

- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on project requirements.

- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Field Survey Planning and Execution: - Plan field survey activities according to project objectives and requirements.

- Determine survey methods, equipment, and techniques based on project specifications.

- Coordinate logistics, including equipment deployment, transportation, and scheduling.

- Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, drones, or other surveying tools.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices during field operations.

Data Collection and Management: - Collect spatial data accurately and efficiently using surveying equipment and techniques.

- Verify data integrity and quality control measures during field data collection.

- Organize and manage collected data in GIS databases or other relevant systems.

- Perform data processing, cleaning, and analysis as needed to generate actionable insights.

Stakeholder Communication: - Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements.

- Communicate progress, findings, and challenges to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.

- Address stakeholder feedback and incorporate changes into field survey plans as necessary.

Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate records of field survey activities, including field notes, data sheets, and reports.

- Prepare comprehensive reports, maps, and visualizations based on survey findings.

- Document survey methodologies, procedures, and results for future reference or audit purposes.

Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, or related field.

- Proven experience in field surveying, including proficiency with surveying instruments and techniques.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis tools.

- Knowledge of spatial data collection technologies (GPS, GNSS, LiDAR, etc.). - Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in surveying or GIS (e.g., Certified Survey Technician, GIS Professional). - Experience with remote sensing techniques and image analysis.

- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., land surveying laws, GPS accuracy standards). - Project management skills and experience managing field survey projects.
