Position: Municipal Engineer (Water and Wastewater) As a Municipal Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of municipal infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of water and wastewater systems, and effective communication and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities:

Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.

Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, sizing and selection of equipment, and preparation of technical reports.

Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.

Conduct site visits to assess existing infrastructure, perform inspections, and monitor construction progress.

Participate in the evaluation of alternative solutions and provide recommendations for project implementation.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate water and wastewater systems with other municipal infrastructure components.

Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in municipal engineering.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia, or eligible for registration.

Proven experience in municipal engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance.

Sound knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, and conveyance systems.

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., BC Building Code, CSA, AWWA, WEF).

Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, InfoWorks, SWMM).

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Experience with engineering consultancy projects and client management is an asset.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
