POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bookkeeper will focus on assisting in the daily administration of our clients’ finance departments. This position will also be responsible for providing general administrative support including filing, scanning and managing documents. Local travel to clients’ offices may be required. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform monthly/quarterly bookkeeping for commercial and non-profit industry clients.

Enter and post journal entries, cash disbursements and cash receipts.

Monitor outstanding balances.

Preparation of payroll taxes, sales taxes & 1099 forms.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Notify senior staff of accounting errors and discrepancies.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred

Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines

2+ years of bookkeeping experience in a professional environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines and budget time efficiently

Ability to handle administrative responsibilities without direct supervision
