Position: Injection Molding Process Technician

Location: Forest City, NC

Rate: $27.80/hr

Shift: Rotating 1st & 2nd shifts OR 3rd shift - must be willing to work overtime and some weekends.

Retention Bonus: $2,500 paid out in four 90 day increments

While reporting to the plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for process troubleshooting and set up of injection molded plastic products. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in fast-paced environments. He/she must have the ability to work with various teams and successfully troubleshoot, repair and adjust equipment as needed. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the safe and efficient operation and set-up of complex injection molding equipment

Start up and troubleshooting machines

Setting and adjusting molds prior to production

Processing test runs and preparing records for other teams to review

Develop certified processes

Implement scientific molding processes on existing molds

Provide training to other employees in scientific molding principles

Basic machine and mold PM's

Maintaining a clean work environment at all times

Following all aspects of maintenance safety protocol

Contributing to a highly productive, efficient and team-oriented work environment

Overtime required at times

Required Skills and Experience:

Expect Incumbent to be Sonoco mission driven

Able to troubleshoot an injection molding process to root cause; 5 + years experience

Strong RJG/scientific molding background

Must have good computer skills; Excel, Word, Windows, Internet, etc.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position, secondary education is preferred

Have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks

Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed

Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success

Must have excellent math skills, English language reading and writing skills, basic mechanical skills and strong interpersonal skills

Supervisory experience is preferred but not required
