Job Summary:
MPS is seeking a Validation Test Engineer. This role is responsible for the development and execution of validation plans and test cases for DDR phys. You will work closely with customers, sales channels, field teams, internal product line teams, and marketing teams.
Essential Functions:
Develop plans to validate DDR phy. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Validate DDR memory physical interface functionality, compatibility, and performance
Develop automated solutions to enhance phy testing and debug
Design and execute innovative test to stress the components to their limits
Identify component issues and collaborate with the design team to identify the root cause of the issue
Provide technical support to customers and field application engineers
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering
2+ years of relevant work experience
Experience with testing DDR or serial I/O (Tx jitter, Rx equalizer)
Lab skills: High speed oscilloscopes, BERT, logic analyzers, probing techniques
Understanding of signal integrity concepts such as differential impedance, jitter, insertion loss, return loss
Experience with schematic and PCB physical design tools to interpret schematic and layout, and locate physical probe points
Scripting experience in any programming language (C++, Python, PERL, MATLAB) to develop automation scripts is a plus
Experience in Analog IP Characterization (SerDes, PLL, DDR) is desirable
Experience in driving initiatives that improved process, procedures, and result quality of high Speed IO Validation at product level
Familiarity with memory controllers and BIOS is a plus
Effective priority management skills across multiple tasks
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in California is $100,000 - $140,000.
