Supervisors / Tank Welders

Job Description

MMI Tank is currently hiring experienced Supervisors/Tank Welders to be part of our field team!

Qualifications:

Must pass a weld test per AWS and ASME in the process they are applying for as well as an x-ray or bend test.

Must have experience in the construction field erected storage tanks and be able to perform all duties safely.

Must be able to fit up vertical, round, roof, bottom seams, and breakdowns.

Knowledge of the following tools:

key plates

bull pins

u-bars

fit up bar

4 or 8 lbs. hammer

grinders

Must be able to pass a post-hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of the job

Must pass a drug test as required by MMI Tank or its customers

Duties and Tasks:

Must be able to weld with 7018 and downhill using 6010

Must be able to weld 71M wire

Plus to weld NR 211

Must be able to manually move 100 feet of weld lead (70-100 lbs.)

Comfortable working at heights up to 80' at times

Assist moving steel

Fit vertical, round seam, roof, and bottoms seams/breakdowns

Grind weld seams in prep for x-ray, chip weld burs, and do other plate surface cleaning

Perform all duties safely

Wear PPE (hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, earplugs, welding hood, gloves, and a respirator when job site conditions require)

Read blueprints, do layout and move scaffolding

Work constructively with others as a team

Schedule and Work Conditions:

The typical work schedule is 10 hours per day / 5 days a week with overtime when available

Working conditions: on feet, kneeling, bending all day, work is done outside in all weather conditions

Workers are required to wear a hardhat, safety glasses, earplugs, and fall protection when working over 6 feet

Work requires moving from job site to Jobsite throughout the United States

When job site conditions require wearing a respirator, workers will need to be clean-shaven

Must be able to lift objects 50 lbs.+
