IRRIGATION SERVICE TECH
Position Summary
Responsible for the efficient operation and repair of existing irrigation systems. Expected to work in a co-operation with other crews and customers to complete a professional, quality project on time.
Primary Duties
Responsible for servicing residential and commercial irrigation systems
Maintains accurate records of parts, scheduled time, etc. and reports information to the irrigation manager on a timely basis
To be available for work Monday through Saturday, as scheduled, and be flexible with hours worked as required by seasonal schedule and weather conditions
Follows instructions of the Manager without deviation from it
Installs projects per design; only making major alterations after approval from the designer and homeowner
Responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks to ensure proper materials, supplies, and equipment needed for the job
Train employees under his/her direction
Ability to lay-out drawings onsite to match the designs form and measurements
Customer communications courteous and as needed
Promote Safety
Troubleshoot all irrigation problems in field both electric and hydraulic
Take responsibility for your actions
Gain and expand a thorough working knowledge of irrigation materials
Follow and enforce company policy

Ability to repeatedly lift at least 50+ lbs. using proper lifting techniques

Job requirements
Ability to read blueprints and plans
Ability to operate and maintain irrigation equipment
Be certified in backflow testing and certification
Have a valid DL and be able to operate large trucks and trailers if needed
Have good communication skills
Be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise and evaluate priorities of job routines
Job Environment / Physical Requirements
Exposure to occasional noise from power equipment, etc. (personal protective equipment available)
Outdoor temperature conditions typical of Iowa through winter, spring, summer, and fall
Outdoor exposure to conditions ranging from the sun, heat, wind, cold, snow, rain, etc
Exposure to materials and equipment that can cause cuts, abrasions, etc
Heavy repeated lifting (75 lbs or greater) required – use proper lifting techniques!
Repeated stooping, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and walking necessary
Personal Equipment Required
Appropriate clothing for the days work and weather following uniform code i.e., pants, shorts, gloves, boots, rain gear, etc
