About the job
The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. This position is responsible for the following functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment compliance, and terminations. This role requires candidates to be in the Austin, TX area.
Responsibilities
Manage the entire process of the employee life-cycle.
Source, engage, and hire the best talent, positioning the company for top talent. Offer new and creative strategies for acquiring and retaining key talent for our team.
Hire and onboard all new employees and contractors.
Manage and maintain all people related policies, compliance, and administrative functions.
Oversee selection, administration, and maintenance of the company’s HR technology to support the business.
Manage all leave requests and accommodation requests.
Administer benefit plans and open enrollment.
Coach managers on employee relations and performance management.
Establish and develop best practices, processes, and strategies to support future growth.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
Maintain and evolve organizational chart to ensure optimal organization, including making recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Manage trainings through third-party LMS.
Maintain current data and files in HR systems.
Respond to UI claims.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience working with technology platforms focused on Human Resources (HRIS), Applicant Tracking, Benefits Administration, Background Check and E-Verify system, and LMS, etc.
Preferred experience working with technology companies
Experience with employee relations
Coach managers on performance management and disciplinary actions
Experience with the termination process
Benefits administration knowledge
Ability to handle situations with confidentiality and professionalism
High integrity and alignment with company’s mission and values
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills (active listening, providing and receiving feedback, setting expectations, etc.)
Highly organized, efficient, and able to work on multiple projects concurrently
Education/Experience
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field required
SHRM-CP or PHR Certification a Plus
Minimum 5 years of HR experience
Location: Austin, TX
Physical Demands (all required to be done for up to 8+ hours per day)
The physical demands of this position are in keeping with general office functions: sitting, navigating an office environment, using a computer, keyboard, telephone, etc.
The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel may be required from time to time for leadership meetings; estimated 10% of the year.
