Position Overview:

As a Manager of the Operations Technology team, your focus will be on spearheading the strategic oversight and enhancement of our technology stack, ensuring it aligns with our commitment to sustainable and efficient energy management. You'll be responsible for managing all aspects of Relevate Power’s Operations Technology system, which plays a pivotal role in monitoring and controlling our hydropower generation and distribution processes. Your SCADA and Operations Technology expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our company and contributing to our mission of clean energy transformation.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain control systems for hydropower generation.

Troubleshoot and repair control system components to address issues promptly.

Perform routine system checks and maintenance to prevent unforeseen failures.

Upgrade control systems and implement new technology to enhance operational efficiency.

Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.

Analyze system data to identify trends and prepare detailed reports on findings.

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless plant operations.

Respond to emergency situations swiftly to minimize risks and damages.

Provide training and support to staff regarding control system operations.

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Operations Technology system.

Ensure the system's optimal performance and reliability.

Integrate the SCADA system with other control systems and equipment used in hydropower generation.

Enable seamless data exchange and control across the facility.

Implement and manage firewall infrastructure to protect our operational technology systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber threats.

Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the SCADA system from cyber threats.

Continuously monitor and update security protocols to maintain system integrity.

Collect, store, and analyze data from the SCADA system to gain insights into facility performance.

Use data analytics to identify opportunities for optimization.

Plan and execute regular system upgrades, software updates, and hardware maintenance.

Manage relationships with vendors and ensure system backups and redundancy.

Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions or failures promptly to minimize downtime.

Develop and implement incident response protocols.

Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (NERC, FERC).

Ensure the SCADA system adheres to all relevant standards and regulations (NERC, FERC).

Manage the budget for SCADA system operations, including procurement, maintenance, and personnel expenses.

Optimize resource allocation to meet operational needs.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to SCADA system performance, incidents, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management.

Interface with third parties for data transfer needs (i.e., ISOs).

Drive professional growth and development by setting and achieving clear objectives in alignment with organizational goals.

Promote and embody the company's core values, fostering a culture of alignment and commitment among team members.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by your manager.

Qualifications:

5 – 8+ years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in managing SCADA systems, preferably in the hydropower or energy industry.

Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and protocols.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP).

Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
