Local Passenger Van Driver Job

The Local Passenger Van Driver will transport people by van on routes to and from our campus. We have a need for drivers from approximately 7am - 9am and 4pm - 6pm.

Follows a planned route, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers.

Communicates with the staff, members, and guardians before, during, and after the route.

Assists passengers on and off the bus when help is needed.

Visually inspects the van before beginning the days assigned route.

Reports any mechanical issues with the van such as brakes, steering, or other issues.

Prepares an observation report when shift is finished.

Performs other related duties as assigned.Requirements:

Ability to operate a van safely.

Minimum of 18 years of age

Current driver license with Non-Restricted Motor Vehicle Record.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write, speak, and listen effectively in English.

Personal enthusiasm for participation in a non-profit organization, which provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Successful completion and maintain all required training which may include CPR, First Aid, and Prevention and Support.

Successfully meet AZ-DPS requirements for Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent time management skills.

Work Environment:

Lift/carry/transfer minimum of 40 pounds.

Bend, kneel, and stoop.

Pushing or pulling of wheelchairs.

Reach/ reach overhead.

Walk/stand for extended periods.

Sit for extended periods.

Finger/hand/wrist dexterity to eye.

This position is considered a “safety sensitive” position.
